The Wave Live Show Platform

Early Wave shows were built from scratch for each artist. Each one took 3 to 6 months, and the next show started from zero. Regular programming wasn't possible at that pace.

The Platform

Over about 24 months we replaced show-by-show production with a library of reusable environments, interactions and visual systems. Shows were assembled from that library and tuned to each artist and setlist. By the end, Wave was running two shows a week.

Stage Builder

I designed the stage builder for performers, partners and publishers with no art background. It was prototyped in TouchOSC with show data in Sheets. The library grew to hundreds of saved looks, most of them made by non-artists.

What the Data Showed

We tracked join and drop times, input engagement, lobby numbers, surveys and Discord reports. Audience sentiment was set at the opening and the finale. So every show got an interactive performer reveal up front and a participatory finale at the end.

Team and Review

I owned visual identity across 30+ live releases, leading 10 to 12 internal artists and tech artists plus 15 to 20 remote contributors, alongside about 8 engineers and leads. External partners included The Mill, Zoic, Future House and Kloudius, with contractors in Asia and Europe. Every show went through Frame.io review, with drawovers and notes on camera moves, framing and lighting. I also helped direct key art and trailers for every Wave concert.
