Justin Bieber in dramatic red desert landscape

Interactive Live Concert · 2021

Justin Bieber

A live, interactive virtual concert with Justin Bieber, watched by 10.7 million viewers across platforms.

The show ran 55 minutes: a 10-minute pre-show and a 45-minute concert, performed in real time. It won a Clio Award and earned MTV VMA and EMA nominations for Best Metaverse Performance.

Creative Approach

Working with the Bieber team, we kept the look grounded and performance-first, with moments only a virtual stage allows. Each song got its own environment tuned to its mood, and the full set held together as one show.

Audience Interaction

Fans attended as custom avatars and sent chat messages straight to the performer avatar. A webcam jumbotron put fans on screen between songs so Justin could see and talk to them. Power Up mechanics changed the environments during the show.

Live Execution

This ran closer to a stage show than a software release: one continuous live take, no delay, no checkpoints, no reset. We rehearsed and tested until the systems held up under real live conditions.
